Inside a small but mighty publisher

This is the HQ of Sort Of Books, publisher of this year’s Booker Prize winner.

I spent part of a day there – drawing Mark Ellingham (left) and Natania Jansz at work, and their English Setter Wooster (sleeping, far left).

In case it’s not already obvious: the company’s HQ is their home.

Upstairs, they were hosting their Booker-winning author, Shehan Karunatilaka. Later in the day, he would be presented with his gilded prize.
