When I have a book proposal accepted I always keep the name of my original title as a subfolder in my email correspondence and for all the actual work folders on my desktop. For example, anything to do with my book Rooms of Their Own is not easy to track down unless you know that I pitched it as Writers' Rooms. It's very annoying sometimes. I don't know why I still do it.

That’s wonderful to know (if not to have to deal with), thank you for taking the trouble to comment.

I guess we all make these kinds of tiny changes that can accumulate and make everything impenetrable later.

I have a tendency to become terribly absorbed in taxonomy, making lists and subfolders etc - just procrastination, probably.
